| Mountain Surf has always strived to be the industry leader for performance, durability, security, design, and service. This goal has always been our top priority and that is why we constantly test, re-test, abuse, and let our pro team abuse all of the materials, products, and processes that we utilize at Mountain Surf. These methods of operation allowed us to issue a pro-active recall for the Dur-O-Ring model sprayskirt in early summer, 2002. We are re-posting this due to the fact that we want to ensure we acquire every skirt that might be affected by this recall.
NOTE: Inspect your GRABLOOP for the following:
1) Yellow thread: Kevlar thread may fail after prolonged UV degradation and exposure.
2) Date/Manufacturing Code (only yellow grabloops): Grabloop may become detached from rand with normal force.
A white tag is located inside each grabloop with a code for the size and date of manufacture. The bottom line should be a letter followed by a row of numbers, which signifies the year and day that each skirt was produced. (i.e. I0703) The letter, "I," represents the year 2002, the first set of numbers, "07," represents the day of production, and the final set of numbers, "03," represents the month of production, which in this case would be March.
The grabloops included in the recall all begin with "I" and the dates of production are between March (03) 7, 2002 and July(07) 18, 2002.
If you have a functional Mountain Surf sprayskirt with a grabloop that fits either of these descriptions, please discontinue use and contact Mountain Surf immediately at 301-746-5389 or email us at customerserv@mountainsurf.com to receive a return authorization number. Please note that this recall is over 5 years old, but we feel the need to re-post this information to ensure all problem skirts are repaired or replaced.
